The Conditions

Under International Law: © The Copyright.

When a work of Art is desired for and bought/sold the buyer and the seller will agree on the right of reproduction. Usually this right stays with the seller/artist who under international law remains the spiritual owner of the artwork  for the term of his life plus 70 years, in the U.S.A., Canada, and the E.U. The artist might consider selling reproductions. The buyer, however, may not go into the business of selling reproductions. The buyer may buy the right of reproduction together with the original work, which might be costly - and where after  no copy's at all will be made. Concerning the sculptures, a detailed record is kept on the limited number of copies or the casts, which are published with every work on sale.
